Carl Steven Padin passed away on Thursday, August 4th, 2022.
Carl was born in Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Women’s Hospital on June 27, 1967. He lived in New York until November of 1976, when he relocated with his family to Miami, Florida. He graduated from South Miami High School in 1986.
Carl never met a person who wasn’t a friend. He was a happy-go-lucky guy, and always brought a positive spirit and enthusiasm to any gathering. He was passionate about animals, rescuing many over the years from the Humane Society of Greater Miami – most recently, his beloved chihuahua, King. He loved his roles as big brother and uncle to his family.
He held various jobs throughout his life, including working at Publix, Baptist Hospital, and the movie theater – bringing the joy he felt in daily life to the customers and coworkers he interacted with. He remained in Miami for the remainder of his lifetime, though he was incredibly proud to be Brooklyn born and a Puerto Rican. This was especially evident in his love for good food and great music.
He is survived by his mother, Nina, of Miami, FL, brother, Oscar, and wife Jessica of Miami, FL, sister, Jennifer, and husband Eric, of Lake Mills, WI, along with several beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Padin, his grandmother, Felicita Mirayes, and grandfather, Juan Mirayes.
He will be so deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and loving him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Carl’s name to The Humane Society of Greater Miami. Carl was a huge animal lover and adopted many beloved pets from The Humane Society over the years, including his sweet pup, King.
