It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria Esther Maysonet of Miami, Florida on September 12, 2022. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 26, 1938.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she touched many with her time and generosity. She always saw the best in people and tried to help them find it within themselves. She knew no strangers, which made her a wonderful therapist, mom, and friend. She lived a long, full life.
She graduated summa cum laude from The University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Barry University.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Laura, George, and Virginia Maysonet. She is survived by her brother Robert (Colette) Maysonet, children Theresa and Richard Rodriguez, grandchildren Alyssa Rodriguez, Ashley (Andre) and Vincent (Ane) Brandt, and many more wonderful family, friends, and neighbors.
She is also survived by her loving life partner, Joseph LoCicero.
Her presence will be missed, but her love remains in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
