It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecilia Esperanza “Hope” Cheeks of Plano, Texas. She passed away on July 20, 2022, at the age of 68, after battling an aggressive type of cancer. Esperanza “Hope” was born in Colombia, South America. She was predeceased by: her husband, George Alvin Cheeks, her parents, José Vidal y Ana de Vidal Gaona; her sisters and brother, Marinita, Lola y José Luis. She is survived by: her daughters, Patry Marcum Lerwick (Lee Lerwick) of Plano, Texas and Zully Mar Vidal of (Doral, Florida); her beloved grandchildren, Paul Marcum, Andrea Torres, Michael Lerwick, and Grace Lerwick. Esperanza “Hope” was a woman of faith, with an incredible zest for life, trusting God and remaining positive regardless of the circumstances. We will miss her loving-care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, Esperanza “Hope” would have preferred a donation to your local animal shelter or a donation to a non-profit organization of your choice.

Morando bajo la sombra del Omnipotente
1 El que habita al abrigo del Altísimo
Morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente.
2 Diré yo a Jehová: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío;
Mi Dios, en quien confiaré.

De la peste destructora.
