Gloria Pirrotti Prudente, beloved wife, devoted sister, and cherished aunt, passed away on September 22, 2024, at their home of 52 years in North Miami, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York, NY, to Settimo and Marana Pirrotti of Messina, Italy. Gloria was the oldest of three sisters and one brother. When she was 2 years old, her parents returned to Italy where she went to school and lived most of her younger years.
Eventually, at the age of 23, events in her life led Gloria to leave Italy and return to New York City. It was there, at work that she met her true love Pasquale. Gloria would go on to share 54 wonderful years with her loving husband, creating a strong and enduring marriage, with their faith in God.
Gloria’s true joy in life came from her family. From the beginning, Gloria was always present in her nieces’ and nephew’s lives. As Godmother to her nephew James, she was committed to helping her sister Gioconda guide all of her children to God by involvement and example. Gloria and Pasquale also helped raise their niece Margaret, and together they built a home filled with love and many cherished memories.
Beyond her family, Gloria found a passion in being an active member of her parish at St. Rose of Lima, and held dear in her heart the many meaningful friendships she and Pasquale formed over the years.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Pasquale; her siblings, Gioconda Ioppolo and Norma Pirrotti; her nieces, Elizabeth Todd and Margaret Jaccoma, and nephew, James Ioppolo; and their children. In addition, she leaves behind extended family in Italy and close friends who will miss her dearly.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Graceland Funeral Home from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Service will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, starting with a Rosary at 10:30AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30AM at St. Rose of Lima, Miami, FL. Afterward we will travel in procession to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral, FL.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to EWTN Catholic Television (800) 447-3986, on her behalf. When she was no longer able to attend church in person, Gloria was extremely grateful for the ability to participate in daily mass from home.
