Mr. HENRY JOSEPH AGUILERA

December 24, 1944 - February 2, 2026

Henry Joseph Aguilera
December 24, 1944 – February 2, 2026

Henry (“Kike”) Joseph Aguilera, 81, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 2, 2026. He was born on December 24, 1944, to Ana Ajo and Guillermo Aguilera in Holguin, Cuba. A proud alum of Colegio de LaSalle in Havana, Henry left Cuba in 1959 at the age of 15 to escape communism. He began a new life in America, starting in Michigan and eventually making his way to Miami, Florida, where he spent nearly 60 years of his life. Henry built a life through determination, hard work, and an easy charm that made people feel instantly at home. He was a successful banking executive, serving at several banks and as a board member for many charitable organizations.
He found joy in collecting art and in surrounding himself with beauty, but his greatest joy was the life he shared with the love of his life, Laura, to whom he was married for nearly 30 years. Always impeccably dressed and known for his warm smile, Henry was loved by many. He was famous for always being on the phone, calling friends and family just to check in, tell a story, or say hello. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a grandfather who never missed a chance to talk about his daughters and grandchildren.
Henry is survived by his wife, Laura; his two daughters, Gina Cuello (Eudaldo) and Ana Poveda (Giovanni); his five grandchildren, Christopher (Natalie), Caitlyn, Sophia, Ian, and Caleb (Ashley); and great-grandson, Sebastián, son of Christopher and Natalie. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Dearest friend Laura and family, My most sincere condolences go out to you during this time. Henry, a long distance friend, whom I first spoke with back in 2016 has been such a joy to know over the past decade. He never missed an opportunity to wish me a happy birthday, Happy Easter, or Merry Christmas. He was unwaveringly kind to me and those with whom he knew here at Rocket Mortgage. He regularly reached out just to ask how my kids, whom he never even met, were doing and to wish them blessings. I feel better as a person for had known Henry. Even though we never met in person, he has made a lasting impact on me and on other whom I work with here that he also spoke to kindly and caring to over the years. Laura, we will continue to always be here for you.
