Con profundo dolor, pero también con inmensa gratitud por su vida, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Matilde Torres, quien partió a la presencia del Señor el jueves 12 de febrero de 2026, a la edad de 85 años.

Matilde nació el 31 de agosto de 1940 en Cuba. Siendo muy jovencita, emigró a los Estados Unidos y se estableció en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde conoció a su amado esposo Orlando, con quien formó una hermosa familia y procreó tres hijos. Después de casarse y con sus hijos pequenitos, juntos decidieron mudarse a la Florida, donde establecieron su hogar permanentemente y construyeron una vida llena de recuerdos, amistades y momentos inolvidables.

Matilde fue una mujer llena de alegría y entusiasmo, cuya energía iluminaba cada lugar al que llegaba. Su vida estuvo marcada por el amor hacia su familia y por la manera contagiosa con la que disfrutaba cada momento.
Le encantaba viajar, especialmente ir de crucero, salir de compras, ir a la playa, socializar y celebrar la Navidad con la ilusión de una niña. Disfrutaba bailar, compartir con sus amistades y pasar tiempo de calidad con su familia.

A Matilde le sobreviven su esposo, Orlando Torres, con quien compartió más de seis décadas de amor y vivencias inolvidables. También le sobreviven sus hijos: Orlando Jr. y su esposa Karen; Rey y su esposa Carolina; y Daniel y su esposa Belkis. Sus nietos: Kyle y su esposa Emily, Matthew, Brett y su esposa Kiley, Nicholas, Sophia, Allison y Olivia. Definitivamente sus nietos eran su mayor orgullo y felicidad.

Matilde fue esposa devota, madre amorosa, abuela consentidora, hermana y tía querida y amiga incondicional. Su legado es el amor por su familia y la alegría de vivir y disfrutar cada instante plenamente.

Aunque su partida deja un vacío inmenso, su amor permanecerá para siempre en nuestros corazones.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el miércoles 18 de febrero a las 11:30 a.m. en Graceland Funeral Home (3434 W Flagler St, Miami, FL). El sepelio será a las 2:30 p.m. en Catholic Cemetery Our Lady of Mercy.

With profound sorrow, yet immense gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Matilde Torres, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the age of 85.

Matilde was born on August 31, 1940, in Cuba. At a very young age, she emigrated to the United States and settled in New York City, where she met her beloved husband, Orlando, with whom she built a beautiful family and raised three sons. After marrying and while their children were still very young, they decided to move to Florida, where they permanently established their home and built a life filled with cherished memories, friendships, and unforgettable moments.

Matilde was a woman full of joy and enthusiasm, whose energy lit up every room she entered. Her life was defined by her deep love for her family and the contagious way in which she embraced and enjoyed every moment.

She loved traveling, especially going on cruises, shopping, going to the beach, socializing, and celebrating Christmas with the excitement of a child. She enjoyed dancing, spending time with friends, and creating meaningful moments with her family.

Matilde is survived by her husband, Orlando Torres, with whom she shared more than six decades of love and treasured memories. She is also survived by her children: Orlando and his wife Karen; Rey and his wife Carolina; and Daniel and his wife Belkis. Her grandchildren: Kyle and his wife Emily, Matthew, Brett and his wife Kiley, Nicholas, Sophia, Allison, and Olivia. Her grandchildren were truly her greatest pride and joy.

Matilde was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, cherished sister and aunt, and a loyal friend. Her legacy is one of love for her family and a joyful spirit that embraced life fully and wholeheartedly.

Although her passing leaves an immense void, her love will remain in our hearts forever.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 11:30 a.m. at Graceland Funeral Home (3434 W Flagler St, Miami, FL). The burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Catholic Cemetery Our Lady of Mercy.
