Con profundo pesar, la familia de María Amelia Columbié comunica su fallecimiento, ocurrido el 28 de enero de 2026 en Lakeland, Florida.
María Amelia Columbié nació el 27 de octubre de 1933 en Mayarí, Cuba. Realizó sus estudios en la Escuela Normal de Santiago de Cuba, donde se formó como maestra de kindergarten y profesora de piano.
A lo largo de su vida se distinguió por su devoción a la familia, su fortaleza, perseverancia, fe en Dios y su espíritu generoso. Su ejemplo de amor y fortaleza permanecerá por siempre en la memoria de quienes la conocieron y amaron.
Le precedió en la muerte su esposo, Carlos Gutiérrez Silva.
Le sobreviven sus queridas hijas, Liset Gutiérrez-Human y Vivian Gutiérrez-Baxevanos; sus yernos, Douglas McFadden y Alfonso Touron; sus nietos, Kenneth C. Human, Kristen Human, Bibiana Baxevanos y Panagiotis Baxevanos; y sus bisnietos, Kenneth Human y Theodore Human. También la recuerdan con profundo cariño sus sobrinos, demás familiares y amigos.
Se celebrará una Santa Misa en su memoria el 6 de febrero de 2026 a las 10:30 a.m. en Ascension Chapel, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, ubicada en 11411 N.W. 25th St., Miami, FL 33172.

With deep sorrow, the family of María Amelia Columbié announces her passing on January 28, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida.
María Amelia Columbié was born on October 27, 1933, in Mayarí, Cuba. She completed her studies at the Escuela Normal of Santiago de Cuba, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher and piano instructor.
Throughout her life, she was distinguished by her devotion to family, her strength, perseverance, faith in God, and her generous spirit. Her example of love and resilience will forever remain in the memory of all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Gutiérrez Silva.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Liset Gutiérrez-Human and Vivian Gutiérrez-Baxevanos; her sons-in-law, Douglas McFadden and Alfonso Touron; her grandchildren, Kenneth C. Human, Kristen Human, Bibiana Baxevanos, and Panagiotis Baxevanos; and her great-grandchildren, Kenneth Human and Theodore Human. She is also fondly remembered by her nieces, extended family, and friends.
A Holy Mass in her memory will be held on February 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Ascension Chapel, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, located at 11411 N.W. 25th St., Miami, FL 33172.
The family sincerely appreciates the expressions of love, support, and solidarity received during this time of sorrow.
