Loving Memory: David Wayne Johnson

David, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many, left us peacefully on July 2, 2023, surrounded by loving family, he was 69 Years Old.  His journey on this earthly plane may have ended, but his impact and presence will forever remain etched in our hearts and memories.

David was born in Atlanta, GA on July 31, 1953.  He was the first child of Albert & Gloria Johnson.   He embodied the spirit of patriotism instilled in him by his parents.   From an early age, he demonstrated a passion for his family which always came first. As he grew older, his determination and compassion only intensified, making him an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.  David Wayne Johnson served with distinction in the United States Army for 8 Years.  When David left the military he was ranked as Drill Sergeant.

Throughout his life, David touched the lives of countless individuals with his generosity, kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love. His warm smile, twinkling blue eyes, infectious laughter, jingling of his wrist watch and “Hello Hello” greeting brought joy to those around him, creating an atmosphere of happiness wherever he went.

Family always held a special place in David’s heart. He was a devoted spouse, parent, sibling, and friend to so many, always ready to provide support and love to those he held dear. His dedication to his loved ones made him the cornerstone of the family, fostering love and unity.

David was a person of integrity, wisdom, and resilience. He faced life’s trials with courage, setting an example for us all on how to confront challenges.

In his free time, David loved being a handyman, collecting coins, tracing his lineage, golfing and fishing. He left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to be part of his life.

As we mourn the loss of our beloved David, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the profound impact he had on each of us.   Let us pause and remember the times and  conversations we shared with David that made us feel special.  His memory will live on as we carry the love he bestowed upon us in our hearts.

David is survived by his daughter Natascha and her children, Austin, Gavin & Corbin, his daughter Alyssa, his son Michael and his children, Michael & Cayden and, his daughter Rebekah “Nickie” and her children, Lyn, Joshua & Jacob, as well as his younger siblings, Mina, Shelly, Ronnie, Carol, Bonnie, Keith and was preceded in death by his younger brother Mike.

The legacy he leaves behind is one of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

A Military Memorial Service to honor the life of David Wayne Johnson will be held at Graceland Funeral Home, Miami, Florida on July 31, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org,  in memory of David Wayne Johnson.

Though we grieve the loss of David, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the positive influence he had on us all. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in the cherished memories that will forever bind us together.

Rest in peace, dear Dave. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
